Prepare Yourselves...
...because I'm coming home. I was talked into coming to the states for a visit by my sister (there was a lot of arm-twisting; she said "you should really come for a visit" and I think I took thirty seconds to say "okay"). That was a mere three weeks ago. And in a mere three days I will be flying out of Bamako thanks to Air France and my dad's amazing bargain airfare hunting skills. I haven't really even thought that much about my visit yet, to be honest; I'm a bit fixated on all of the media and free wine that will be coming my way during the flight. Then I have a whole month to spend with you lovely people stateside. I can't wait. You may be wondering why I have such a sudden interest in coming home. Well my project will need to be put on hold within the next few weeks due to the arrival of rainy season and the subsequent exodus of all available labor to the fields. So now is a good time for me to travel. Lots of volunteers are heading to Ghana, but I just wasn't feeling it. So when Cindy suggested coming home, I thought that sounded like to best option available. I hope you aren't disappointed. I'll see you soon.
